How to install a Nothing OS update manually

Before you start

• Use a package for your exact phone (codename shown on the file page).
• For an incremental update, the phone must be on the build shown as “update from …”. Otherwise use the full package.
• Charge above 50% and back up.

Steps

1. Copy the .zip into a folder named ota at the top of the phone’s internal storage (create it).
2. Open the Phone app and dial *#*#682#*#*. The offline update tool opens.
3. Select the package (it may be found automatically) and tap Update / Apply.
4. Wait for the phone to install and restart.

With a computer (ADB sideload)

1. Boot to recovery: turn the phone off, hold Volume Up + Power until the logo, then choose recovery (or run adb reboot recovery).
2. Choose Apply update from ADB and run adb sideload followed by the file name.

If something goes wrong

• The dialer code does nothing: make sure you use the stock Phone app.
• “Installation failed”: the package doesn’t match your build. Use the full package instead of the incremental one.
